Leadership Bios
Barry has extensive experience and a proven track record in building innovative technology companies, growing revenue and market share and a history in leveraged buyouts and VC fund raising and growth acquisition strategies. Barry possesses a rare combination of leadership and skills in strategy, business and corporate development, engineering and operational management well suited to establish high performance teams and transform and grow technology organisations. Barry has led 3 mergers and acquisitions, most recently in 2008 when he took over as CEO of Cubic Telecom. Cubic is privately held with over €110 million in funding and has grown to over 180+ staff. Prior to that Barry led the acquisition of the Nasdaq-listed Brightpoint Inc (Brightpoint Ireland) at the end of 2003 where he steered the company from 15 staff/$35 million revenue p/a to over 80 staff/$200 million revenue p/a in 2009. Barry also holds board seats on a range of high-growth companies and was recently selected and proud to be the first Irish entrepreneur on the Endeavour Leadership Program (July 2020).
Miloud Bensaada
Chief Commercial Officer
Miloud is Chief Commercial Officer and member of the Senior Leadership Team at Cubic. He leads Cubic’s sales division to bring its technology to a wider audience of automotive, agriculture and other high-value IoT asset original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), expediting the growth of the software-defined connected vehicle (SDCV) market. Miloud has 25 years of telecommunications industry experience and joins from Orange, where most recently he was Vice President of Sales in Orange’s International Wholesale business. Prior to that he was responsible for the Automotive and Manufacturing sectors for Orange Business. Miloud graduated from the Institute Mines-Télécom in Paris and holds an MBA from Imperial College London.
Shane Sorohan
Chief Operating Officer
Shane is an executive with extensive experience in corporate finance, M&A and fundraising transactions. Shane joined Cubic Telecom in 2012 and, together with the executive team, he sets the corporate strategy for the company and leads the successful execution against this strategy. Shane is responsible for the global operations of Cubic, from project delivery, legal and regulatory compliance, all the way through to in life service. In addition to this, Shane has been focused on developing and delivering on Cubic’s corporate development strategy. He has led the successful completion of transactions with global strategic and financial investment partners including Softbank, Volkswagen Group, Qualcomm, the European Investment Bank, and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund. Shane has extensive corporate finance experience having previously worked with NCB Corporate Finance. He has managed M&A and fundraising transactions across a broad range of sectors in Ireland and the UK, as well as providing strategic advice to many companies at various stages of their lifecycle
David McManamon
Chief Finance Officer
David McManamon is the Chief Financial Officer at Cubic Telecom. Before Cubic, David served as Group Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer for EMEA and CALA at Xtrails since 2012. In 2016, Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced that it had completed its acquisition of Xtralis for $480 million. David along with the executive team lead this transaction. Prior to that from 2005 until 2012 David was with Payzone. He steadily progressed at PayZone through numerous corporate finance and divisional finance leadership roles, eventually becoming Group Financial Controller. Along with significant global experience, David has a wealth of international experience having lived and worked in Australia managing specific divisional growth initiatives for BKA (a subsidiary of Burger King Corporation inc.) David started his financial career with KMPG in Dublin as Senior financial accountant.
Susan Rafferty
Chief People Officer
Susan Rafferty is the Chief People Officer (CPO) at Cubic Telecom. As CPO, Susan is responsible for harnessing the unique Cubic company culture to attract global talent whilst simultaneously overseeing all other aspects of people development, leadership, employee experience, and people operations. Prior to joining Cubic, Susan held HR leadership positions in the financial services sector and the aircraft leasing industry. Susan has a Hons Degree in Business from University College Dublin (UCD) and is currently completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Business & Executive Coaching at UCD Michael Smurfit. Susan has also undertaken Strategic Leadership training with INSEAD, France.
Dave Kelly
Chief Corporate Officer
Dave is the Chief Corporate Officer at Cubic Telecom. Dave works with the senior leadership team to formulate corporate strategy and other business units to communicate the corporate strategy, ensuring that enterprise-level plans are translated into the plans of the various units and departments to execute strategic initiatives. He also has responsibility for legal and compliance, managing a team of legal professionals with full responsibility for all legal and compliance issues affecting a global telecoms company. A solicitor with over 10 years PQE having initially worked as a banking and commercial solicitor before moving in-house as a general practitioner with a particular focus on telecoms with Vodafone and Sky before taking up his current position with Cubic Telecom in 2018.

Chief Product Officer
Cian joins Cubic as Chief Product Officer, underlining the company’s emphasis on growing its strong pipeline of scalable products. A senior leader with diverse international experience in capital markets, eCommerce, airlines and start-ups, most recently at ESW (formerly eShopworld), Cian has a proven track record of strategizing, architecting and delivery innovative, large-scale technology products while driving successful commercial scale & growth. His extensive experience leading large, growth-focused teams across product, engineering, design, client-facing operations and sales activities has allowed him to drive customer value, innovative capability and technological advances. He is a Dublin City University Science graduate
Nick Power
Chief Technical Officer
Gerry McQuaid is Member of the Management Board and has been part of the Senior Leadership Team at Cubic since its establishment in 2009. Before joining Cubic, Gerry had a successful career in Sales & Marketing leadership in the Mobile and IT industries. Gerry led the team that built Ireland’s second mobile network into what became O2 Ireland, where he was Chief Commercial Officer and Main Board Member. Prior to his Mobile industry career, Gerry had a successful career in Sales within the IT industry. He was part of the leadership team in Ireland for Digital Equipment Corporation where he managed Enterprise Sales, and prior to this he worked in Enterprise Sales in the UK for ICL/Fujitsu. Gerry has a Natural Sciences Degree from Trinity College, Dublin and is married with three daughters.
