PLXOR is a first of its kind solution that enables automotive OEMs to control the data consumption of applications and content streaming in the car
It was announced today that Cubic Telecom has unveiled “PLXOR” – a new connectivity management service. The announcement coincides with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week, where PLXOR’s capabilities will be showcased to the public for the first time. PLXOR is a globally hosted service available for integration in late 2020.
PLXOR is a new connectivity management and control capability offered to Cubic Telecom’s automotive OEM customers. The service is a software routing component that sits directly on top of the core network layer. With PLXOR, Cubic Telecom gives its automotive OEM customers the unique ability to maintain a single point of control over applications and content availability in the car. PLXOR enables the automotive OEM to distinguish data consumption and usage by application and content type, implement split billing and to differentiate Quality of Service features and commercial propositions assigned to each application and content stream. PLXOR introduces an important solution for automotive OEMs, enabling them to retain full control of data consumption and become the gatekeeper for all content streaming.
In this way, Cubic Telecom’s automotive customers can gain valuable insights into the intricacies of automotive connectivity solutions. No core network changes are required to run this service and PLXOR can be configured by the customer for both legacy and new fleets without complex IT integration.
Cubic Telecom has once again delivered on transforming a complex solution into an efficient and reliable offering. Developed in-house, PLXOR emphasises the high-calibre of our team’s capabilities and our commitment to provide the tools and capabilities OEM’s need to ensure a seamless connected car experience.”
